Group Classes

Our Group Classes are a great way to to get training for you and your dog. Our trainers have years of experience teaching groups and are extremely knowledgeable on the topics they teach. Group Classes provide a budget friendly option to dog training and with our monthly membership program we give you the ability to move through each class to create a well balanced, well mannered, well behaved dog.

Membership Program

Our membership program is what sets up apart from all the other trainers in Utah County. By having a membership with us you get the best deal on dog training anywhere with a whole host of benefits, including;

  • All classes included in membership program ($200 charge for Advanced Off Leash Class)
  • Priority signups for group classes
  • Access to our Out n About Classes
  • Member only discount on all retail items in store


Memberships can be set up one of two ways, either pay monthly or pay once per year. Membership costs $45 per month or $360 per year.

Dogs who have completed one of our Board and Train programs, Day Training programs or are signed up on our Unlimited Training program receive a free lifetime membership.

Class Schedules

Monday - Basic Obedience - $160

Starting Monday April 18th at 7pm


This class is for dogs aged 6 months and older. Our basic obedience class is a six week course to help you learn all the basic skills your dog will need to become the good dog you know they can be. In this class we will be covering:

  • Week 1 - How we train - Name game - Focus - Sit
  • Week 2 - Review - Focus with distractions - Down - Grooming
  • Week 3 - Review - Loose Leash Walking - Place
  • Week 4 - Review - Greeting people and dogs - Stay
  • Week 5 - Review - Stand - Recall
  • Week 6 - Review - The 3Ds of Dog Training - Tricks


For this class you will need to bring treats and have your dog on leash.

This class is a pre requisite for Intermediate Obedience

Monday - Out N About - Member Only - 6:30pm


Our Out N About classes give your dog a different form of socialization. In this class we will visit a different dog friendly store or location as a group and allow the dogs to sniff and explore. This class is great for dogs as they get to experience a wealth of new locations, sights, sounds and smells all while walking nicely with other dogs.


This class is not for dogs who are leash reactive and we ask that your dog not wear a retractable leash while out n about with us.

Tuesday - Puppy Class - $160

Starting Tuesday April 19th at 7pm

 

Our puppy class is for dogs aged under 6 months old. This six week class will teach you everything you need to know about raising a puppy and how to help them become amazing members of your family in the future. In this class we will cover:

  • Week 1 (No Dogs) - Introduction - How we train - Crate and potty training - Clicker vs marker word - Puppy biting - Training schedules
  • Week 2 - Name game - Grooming - Sit - Confidence course or Socialization
  • Week 3 - Review - Greeting people and dogs - Jumping - Down - Confidence course or Socialization
  • Week 4 - Review - Leash skills - Leave it/Drop it - Confidence course or Socialization
  • Week 5 - Review - Stay - Recall - Confidence course or Socialization
  • Week 6 - Review all skills - Questions - Confidence course or Socialization - What class is next?


For this class you will need to bring treats and have your dog on leash.

Wednesday - Intermediate Obedience - $160

Starting Wednesday April 20th at 7pm

  

Intermediate Obedience is the class your dog will take once they have completed or tested out of Basic Obedience. Intermediate Obedience is a six week class that will improve the skills your dog has learned so far by building focus, adding in distance, duration and distractions, and preparing your dog to take and pass the Canine Good Citizen test. Here is the curriculum for this class:

  • Week 1 - Adding Distance and Duration to Sit and Down
  • Week 2 - Meetings and Greetings, Dogs and People
  • Week 3 - Loose Leash Walking Around Distractions
  • Week 4 - Stay and Come Distance and Duration
  • Week 5 - Working Around Distractions
  • Week 6 - Grooming, Handling and Supervised Separation


For this class you will need treats and have your dog on leash.

This class is a prerequisite for our Out 'n' About Classes

Thursday- Trick Training - $160

Starting Thursday April 21st at 7pm


During this class we will be teaching you the skills you need to help your dog accomplish either their Novice Tricks Title or Advanced Tricks Title through the AKC. We will work on a number of tricks through out the six weeks and will help you and your dog learn how to perform them.


This class is for dogs with any ability level that just wants to learn. Every dog in class must be able to be calm around other dogs.


We cannot have any reactive dogs in this class


For this class you will need treats and have your dog on leash.

Friday - Advanced Off Leash training - $450

Starting Friday April 22nd at 7pm


Advanced Off Leash Training will help you to take your dogs training to a more advanced level. We will be teaching you how to use training tools in a safe and effective way. During class we will be teaching you how to introduce the tools, how to start off leash training, advanced recalls and off leash heel. This class includes a remote training collar and long line for every dog in attendance. 

Here is the curriculum for the class:

  • Week 1 - Introduction to Training Collars
  • Week 2 - Introduction to Leash Work
  • Week 3 - Introduction to Long Line Work
  • Week 4 - Long Distance Recalls
  • Week 5 - Practice with Long Lines
  • Week 6 - Off Leash Walk

Saturday - Socialization Classes

Starting Saturday January 8th - $10.00 per class

 

Saturday Socials are coming back to Canine Connection and will be available to all dogs. Social Classes are a great way to get your dog around other dogs in a safe and structured environment where they can learn and practice key social cues from each other. This class always starts with the dogs on leash. We walk the perimeter of our yard a few times while the dogs settle in and then, once instructed, all dogs come off leash to play, interact and learn.


Please do not let your dogs greet on leash and please do not have your dog on a retractable leash in this class.


  • Small Dogs (up to 40lbs)     -   Saturday 10:00am
  • Large Dogs (40lbs and up)  -  Saturday 11:00am
